New Year- New You!? 
As we begin a new year, with its potential stretched out before us, some of us may be thinking of ways to make improvements in our lives. We may look back at 2024 and identify certain areas that we feel could benefit from change- a change of habits, a change of behaviors, etc. Well there are many areas that we may hope to see improvement, including physical, mental, emotional, financial, psychological, etc.… let's focus on the spiritual realm, which arguably has the most significance (1 Timothy 4:8).   How can we seek to be renewed, in a spiritual sense?

In 2 Corinthians 5:17, we find: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”  Admittedly, some of us may not have had that feeling as if we were struck by lightning, and somehow instantly made ‘new’… in fact, we may despair over just how ordinary we feel, at times.   Take heart- sanctification is a life-long process.  Is there anything we can do, to position ourselves for the sanctifying work of the Spirit? Romans 12:2 offers encouragement: “Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”  Let’s prayerfully read and meditate on the Word, and let God do His transforming work in our lives.
