Sunday Devo - March 17, 2024

He telleth the number of the stars; He calleth them all by their names. Great is our Lord, and of great power: His understanding is infinite [Psalm 147: 4-5]

I remember first hearing this verse in Sunday School when I was maybe ten years old. It
sure got my attention… even then, I knew that there were a LOT of stars, and I thought it was quite remarkable. As an adult, I believe that there are thousands of times more stars (many orders of magnitude more) than my ten-year old mind could possibly comprehend. Thus my sense of awe is similarly not diminished!

This verse illustrates the greatness of God, and how infinite his understanding is. It is a great verse to share with others… and perhaps especially with children, who can look up towards the heavens and get a sense of awe when considering their Creator. Naturally, it requires some faith. My hope is, that we would be among those…
that feed our faith, and starve our doubts to death!
