Sunday Devo - April 14, 2024

And God said of Israel in Hosea 11:4, I drew them with gentle cords, with bands of love, And I was to them as those who take the yoke from their neck. I stooped and fed them.

Verses 7, 8, My people are bent on backsliding from Me. Though they call to the Most High, None at all exalt Him. “How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? My heart churns within Me; My sympathy is stirred.

An incredible insight into the tender, deep love of God for His people, who are wanting to return to their old life once more - apart from God. Despite God's deliverance and love and protective care - they've turned their back on Him, they won't acknowledge Him, and even though they worship other gods, God is still unwilling to let them go. God's cry here is, "How can I give you up? How can I let you go?".  Oh, How He loved them! Oh, how He loves us!

Are you a prodigal son or daughter? Have you gone back to those things that the Lord had once delivered you from? He is calling out to you today…respond to the love of God that will not let you go.
