Sunday Devo - October 27, 2024

Ezekiel 36:26-27, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

Is there anything about you that you would like to change? I am not speaking about your physical features or looks, but instead the inner man or woman, the person that you really are. Jesus makes it clear (Matt 12:43-45) that we can’t make effective changes to our character, behavior or thought life by our own efforts. But Jesus doesn’t want us to lose hope! He assures us He will faithfully enable (Phil 1:6) these changes by indwelling His Spirit within us, working in conjunction with His Word!!
I recently read a quote by A.W. Tozer, he said, "An honest man with an open Bible and a pad and pencil is sure to find out what is wrong with him very quickly."
So, let's be honest with the Lord and ourselves, let’s open our Bibles, and allow the Holy Spirit to lead us as we examine the Scripture passages. Staying in the Word is key to your growth, and dare I say it, 'a new you'! :)
