Sunday Devo - July 14, 2024

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17

There I was in the hot sands of Afghanistan. I just got promoted to Corporal and I oversaw 5
Marines whose job was to fix broken trucks. We were going to be there for a full year and the only thing I wanted was for them all to make it back home safe. As their leader I pushed,
encouraged, coached, corrected, mentored and challenged them daily. By the end of the
deployment, both myself and the Marines under me grew as Marines and Technicians.

I tell this story to encourage the leadership to not just do your job leading but also guiding, mentoring, coaching, correcting, and especially challenging those that see you as a leader. Does not matter if it’s your child, your underling at work, or people in your ministry.
