“Therefore behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “that it shall no more be said, ‘The Lord lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,’ but, ‘The Lord lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north and from all the lands where He had driven them.’ For I will bring them back into their land which I gave to their fathers." (Jeremiah 16:14-15)

If we consider the bible in our hand as the word of God, which it is. We would expect it to reflect the characteristics of God. It is complex, requires study and requires faith and has many layers of meaning.

We have prophetic literature, like the example above which proves the integrity of scripture. Fulfilled prophecy is just another evidence of the truth of God's Word.

The study of the bible also inoculates us from false teaching while at the same time prepares us for what is coming in our future. God's ways are not our ways. To prepare for what's coming requires us to fully rely on God alone.

That has a real practical application because we naturally want to do something. But we can't do what God alone will do and has done. God sent His Son as a gift to give us eternal life. Receive Him and live forever.
