Sunday Devo - December 1, 2024

“Praise the Lord! Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭106‬:‭1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Many of us are familiar with the saying, “Misery loves company.”  In short, it means that those who are unhappy seek companionship with others that will support their grumbling.  

Thankfully, God has a much healthier alternative for us. Instead of adopting a victim mentality or an attitude of grumbling, we (as Christians) can celebrate that we are “… more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭37‬, ‭NKJV‬‬).  We are sons and daughters of the King!

If you find yourself in a rut of complaining, I encourage you to:
1) lay your cares before God in prayer (I Peter 5:6-7),
2) seek fellowship with encouraging believers (I Thessalonians 5:11), and
3) read Chapter 8 of Romans.

In Christ, we have much to celebrate and give thanks for!
