Sunday Devo - November 24, 2024

 Matthew 6:26,31-32 “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?...Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat? or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. “

I love this illustration Jesus gives to His disciples, because it's a perfect depiction of God’s provision for our lives. In addition to that, we have a covenant with the Lord where God says He will personally care for you because you are a child of God.

Now with Jesus saying that we will be taken care of, we should make ourselves content and happy; but sometimes we have this desire to want more than just our necessities… But it’s important to note that God provides you with all of your needs, not all of your ”greeds”. I think I’ll really be happy when all of my “greeds” are met; but in reality God is providing us with all we need and through Him we find contentment and joy that surpasses understanding.
