Resurrection Sunday Devotional - March 31, 2024

““Also I say to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the angels of God. But he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God.”  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭12‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When we read the story of Peter and how he denied knowing the Lord three times (Luke 22:54-62), it is sad to see such a close follower of Jesus do such a thing.   Peter allowed fear to dissuade him from professing his affiliation with Jesus.   

Thankfully, Peter’s earthly story did not end there, and we can later read of a Spirit-filled Peter who becomes a bold evangelist for Christ.

Like Peter, we can learn from our shortcomings, and live boldly for Jesus.  If you are seeking such boldness, I recommend  reflecting on who God is and the eternity He has in store for His followers.  By doing so, your fear (of man, etc.) can be transformed into faith.  And, God can use such faith and His Holy Spirit to give you the courage to profess Jesus Christ to a world that desperately needs Him.
