Sunday Devo -April 30, 2023

"For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." James 2:26

Imagine a slab of concrete with a 5-point harness chair bolted to it and you are standing on that slab. You confess out loud, “I BELIEVE THIS CHAIR CAN HOLD MY WEIGHT”.
The chair symbolizes God. Your confession is your faith in God. But if you never exercise your faith and sit down in that chair, can you say that is true faith?
The living faith that James is talking about is a faith that is active not just words confessed. Yelling at a truck to fix itself isn’t going to work either.

Say an earthquake happens and you are not prepared. You are going to stumble and fall. If you put your faith in God by putting your full weight on that chair and letting Him secure you in His loving 5-point embrace; so that when that earthquake comes all you gotta do is trust that He has you.
Have you put your full weight on Him or are you still trying to stand during earthquakes?
