Sunday Devo - July 2, 2023

Hebrews 11:16
But now they [Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, etc.] desire a better, that is, a heavenly country.  Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.
 
As we celebrate our country on the Fourth of July, we should remember the heavenly country that we now desire as Christians.  Sure while we are yet here in America, we need to pray every day and thank the Lord for the freedoms we enjoy.  We should also pray for our country each day for our future as we are told to do in 1 Timothy 2:1-3.
But the real joy and our reward is found in John 14:3 where Jesus says “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 
So have a great Fourth of July!
