Sunday Devo - July 12, 2026

This month of soccer has been a lot of fun for me. Watching the tournament, it’s amazing to see how every team spends months—and even years—preparing for one goal: winning the trophy. One thing I always enjoy is noticing that a team isn’t made up of just one position on the field. There are goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and forwards. Each player has a different role, but together they are one team.
In 1 Corinthians 12:12–27, Paul explains that the body has many different parts, yet every one of them is essential. In 1 Corinthians 12:18, he writes: “But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as He wanted them to be.” God is the Coach. He knows exactly where to place you so that His team can accomplish its purpose.
The same is true for the church and for our lives. God has given each of us different gifts, but every one of us is important. When we trust His plan and faithfully play the role He has given us, we help the whole team succeed.
So today, may our hearts be ready to say, “Put me in, Coach.”
