“While the word was still in the king’s mouth, a voice fell from heaven: “King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: the kingdom has departed from you! And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. They shall make you eat grass like oxen; and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses.” (Daniel 4:31-32)
King Nebuchadnezzar was prideful of his accomplishments. In an instant his kingdom was taken away and he was forced to live like an animal in the open. Eventually he acknowledged God and his kingdom was restored.
What God allowed to happen to Nebuchadnezzar is an allegorical picture of what has and will happen to Israel. God had elevated them to a superior kingdom during the time of Solomon. Then through pride and disobedience, God took away their kingdom. There is a final 7 year period called the Great Tribulation period where Israel will come to their senses. Zechariah 12:10 "And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn".
The One who was pierced was Jesus Christ, the true Messiah they rejected. Pray for those that God has put in your life that do not know Him.
That they may come to know Jesus and be saved.
